Nice Cushions
I like these cushions from wannekes.com
Here's a bit of a zoom in on the details...

Just that one cushion alone has a lot of tutorials for how you could draw animals with character in pixels,
if pixel animals is what you've been waiting then there you go!...

Knitting cuddles
Just to keep you posted, we're about to dive head first into the world of cuddly toys. Knitted online are soon to start work on knitted cuddlies.
So soon you can create your own cuddlie, will it be just like you or will it be your nemisis?
If anyone has any strong opinions on the look of the knitted cuddlies, please do let us know either through the contact form on the website, or let us know on our facebook page.
We'd love to know if people want to create their own bunny, or a lanky rectangully.

Knitted mice pattern
Since writing the blog on knitting for charity I was speaking to my Mum and Sister, and they are thinking of teaming up to do some hand puppets for a Christmas shoe box. I've also had an urge to do some hand knitting myself, so was looking around for some patterns to do something for a box. Operation Christmas Child are supplying some patterns themselves but i also found this one from fuzzymitten.com which is for some holiday mice - aren't they well cute, these are actually stuffed but maybe I could leave them open ended and unstuffed and make them as finger puppets.
So I thought I'd share the pattern with you, they could make a Christmas Carol Singers Choir to decorate your home, cute right!

Knit 2 Together
I saw this exhibition of Janet Morton's work at the Crafts Council 5 years ago and was reminded of it the other day by a friend. I like the idea of knitting a hoover rather than doing the hoovering.
I guess this scene talks very much about knitting as a craft, something done in the home - perhaps in that armchair, in front of that tv, and the scene is clearly created by a very able knitter. I'm hoping that knitted online will also enable the craft of knitting, but to an audience who may prefer not to pick up the needles and wrap them in wool. Knitting has certainly waltz its way out of this aged living room back into fashion after all this time, and I'm hoping the same can be true of a 'digital knitter'. There's so much knitting that goes on in factories to create all the knitwear on the high street, but knitting the craft, that's done in the home. So whether it be with knitting needles and wool or with a laptop and knittedonline, may you all enjoy sitting in your armchair creating your own knitwear this winter.
(p.s. the reason there's been so few posts of late is that a few more products have been developed in time for knitted online's imminent launch, watch this space, its so nearly about to explode!)
loving the pixel art - lets knit some!
Now that I knit in pixels not stitches I've got my eyes open wide for fun pixel art.
Look at these book jackets icoeye have made. They're pretty fun and although it seems to involve owning books all the same size I love these graphics on a bookshelf and I think I'd love them on knitwear!
Also combining my love of chocolate and my new found magnetism to pixel art I love love love what Tithi Kutchamuch has done here and want more!
basic drawing tips
Here's a little demo sheet that shows how to draw some basic shapes on your knitting.
The circle in the top left hand corner is really the smallest you can knit a circle, and it can then, as with all these shapes, be scaled up to almost any size.
Take a look a the sheet and try your hand at a little intarsia knitting yourself here online!
Geometric shapes work really well with this kind of knitwear, and you can build up a tesselated pattern to repeat across the garment. Watch out for more drawing tips blogs and let me know if there are any particular tutorials you would like...
